Here I am again...

I have been awful with trying to keep up with my blog. Most of my family ( DH and MOM) do not understand my want/need to blog. Its just fun. Kinda like keeping a journal with pictures. I know I"m probably writing to myself, but thats ok. I am "over" pouting about my red ribbons on my photography. Hey.. I got 3 red ribbons! isn't that cool! I mean, 2nd place doesn't mean I lost, does it? And alot of people didn't get any ribbons at all. I've talked to several people about it. It seems if you are an "unknown" and not in the "in" crowd, you are not likely to win anything big anyway. So, now, I'm happy. I was just having a very bad week last week. Hopefully, this next week will be better. Its not starting off too well, but I can always hope.

Tonight, after going to a picnic with my parents, I got home and my SUV wouldn't start again. something happened to it. Now, I have to have it towed somewhere for someone to work on it.
Besides being a big pain in the butt, there is the $$ part of it. Hopefully not too much $$ ~

We are planning a big birthday celebration for my dad on September 6. It is going to be at my house. There is so much that I'd like to get done before a bunch of my relatives come to my house. I'd love to get a new kitchen cabinet and sink. I'd love to get new curtains for the family room, which has NONE at the moment. I'd love to get a new backyard furniture/swing. I'd really like to plant some flowers and have them look beautiful. What will end up happening, is that I'll clean my house real good and that will be that. I don't have the money for anything else. Especially since now my SUV won't start and nick needs dental work. ( Nick and I both went to the dentist and we both need work done. Mine will have to wait) I really need a new refrigator. Ours is too small. I don't know how we'll hold all the food etc for the big shin dig. we'll just have to wait and see.

I feel like last week was a total "yuck" even though there was a lot to do in Coffeyville. With the Fair and Rodeo in town we could've done alot of fun stuff. We did go out there a bit, and I helped out the ladies club at work at couple of nights out there. I guess I just wasn't in the "mood" for all that. Menopause SUCKS, and I hate the mood swings. I really try not to "share" my mood swings so I keep things bottled up in side, which isn't good either. I need to find a happy medium. Although, if I get my menopause under control and I can actually sleep at night, when would I write this blog? haha.

Tonight, after the picnic, we saw some people selling Cocker Spanial puppies. We stopped and looked at them. a BIG no no. I have ALWAYS wanted a Cocker. They are so cute and this last little puppy was no exception. he had the cutest face and he was the same color as our golden retriver, sunny. It was a real temptation to take him. He was the last of his litter to go and the people were deseparate to get rid of him. He was 13 weeks old. He had the biggest feet! LOL.

We drove away, but sure didn't want to. We talked about it all the way home. We were tempted to go back and get him. They only wanted $50 for a AKC registered cocker. But, I knew what my mom would say.. and so we decided against it, even though we really wanted him. We know that its for the best, but we could all use alittle more love in our life.

I am going to share with you the pictures that won a red ribbon. Thanks for stopping by!

Loser

I'm a big loser! Not really, but I am very disappointed. I did get my hopes up. Thats what I get, I guess. I got 3 red ribbons out of 6 entries. I really don't see what was so special or different about the big winners than my photos. I know its just the judges taste. Anyway, thats what I told Nick. I might have entered them in the wrong catagory.. who knows. I probably will never know and will probably never try again. Who needs MORE disappointment ? i already have enough!
Nick and I rode the Tilt-a-whirl, which was fun. he was such a BIG TALKER going up to the ride, saying that I was going to scream like a girl and embrass him! HA!! He was the one screaming like a girl! But now, he wants to go back on it 2 more times before the fair goes away! haha.
Glad he had fun.
Thats all I have for tonight. I think I'll go sulk in bed and watch the Olympics. Maybe they'll get me in a better mood!
Thanks for stopping by.

Nervous

Ok. So.. tomorrow, I'm entering some pictures in the fair. I don't know why I am doing this to myself. I am already a nervous wreck and I haven't even entered the pictures. I will have to wait until after I get off work tomorrow even to see if I have won any ribbons. If you win a blue ribbon, you win $4.00. ha.. its not about the money. I guess its to see if other people like my work. Wish me luck.
I am watching swimming on the Olympics. The USA is kicking some booty! I love it. Go USA!
This week is going to be a long one. I will be half way busy, both at work and after work. It is the fair and rodeo here in Coffeyville. I am helping out a couple of nights and we'll go to the rodeo a couple of times. I've got my mind somewhere else. A couple of photography jobs that might be coming up... oh well. I rule! :)
Thanks for checking in.. come back!

I REALLY do love to watch him swim.. not just because he's HOT!

Happy

I went to the post office today and bought some new stamps. I got to choose which ones and she had a lot of different ones, but as soon as I saw these, I knew which ones I was going to get.
These new stamps make me happy. They are so cute. Although, when I send out mail, its usually a bill and THAT doesn't make me happy! LOL

What little thing makes YOU happy??

Weekend Trip

We went to Enterprise/Abilene Kansas this weekend. We went to see Charlie's Mom and sisters and neice's and nephews. What a crew! We went to church, which was nice. We got to see some of our old church friends. One gentleman got up on the pulpit and welcomed us to church and called me by my husbands ex-wives name. WHAT?!?!?! He later apologized, but still. Charlie and I have been married for 6 years.. I went to church there 5 years, I was the city clerk for 5 years, I spoke to this gentleman at least once a month for 5 years.. and he calls me JULIE ?? How funny. It was so good to see our friends. We went swimming Saturday afternoon. It was fun seeing the kids swimming. They were little fish.

Marika and I.

Kai going off the diving board
Mason's turn on the diving board.
Nick's diving attempt...
Mila finally gave it a whirl and loved it.

We also drove through Chapman, KS to look at the
Tornado damage. It made me cry. The town is slowly
rebuilding and thats a good thing. I'm really glad we
didn't live in Enterprise when that Tornado went over.
I would've freaked out.
The High School:

The kids at Sunset.
Do you know how HARD it was to get these 4 to hold still for
a few minutes while I took the picture? impossible.
Its not perfect, but I was just lucky to get it!
Thanks for checking in !

August

I promised myself that I would start blogging everyday starting August 1st. So, today is the day.
Today has been a good day so far. Although, I had to give the state some of my money ( Truck tag was due, ugh) I actually sleep halfway decient last night. Although I think my DH is coming down with a cold or something. He tosses and turned more than usual last night. Nick spent the night with his Grandparents ( I actually don't know HOW that happened)

Our vacation as great. I believe we all had a good time. As it turns out, I took close to 1000 pictures. Mostly of the boys tubing, or sking, etc. They had such a good time.

A butterfly that was following me around.

Travis jumping off a swing. I can always get some good "action shots" out of him.

Brandon is proving to be alot like his Dad. Isn't scared of anything.

Of course, Nick had to get into the action!
Nick and Brandon having a ball tubing.

Thats it for today. We are going to see Charlie's family in Enterprise this
weekend, which means, I'll get to take pictures of KIDS! Yeah.. my favorite!
There might not be anything posted over the weekend, but look at Monday!
hee hee hee..
have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!
